Healthy Ireland is a government initiative which aims to create a society where everyone can enjoy mental and physical health, and where wellbeing is valued and supported. Healthy Ireland at your Library is an exciting new service which has developed from the Healthy Ireland initiative and is available free of charge in Fingal County Libraries.
As part of this exciting new service, we have a range of FREE talks and workshops relating to various Health and Wellbeing topics. Everyone is welcome to attend however booking is essential as places are limited. Please contact the relevant Library directly to book your place. Contact details for each Library are available when you highlight your cursor over the name of the Library.
Coping with your Child’s ADHD, Dyspraxic or related diagnosis
This talk will be facilitated by Fiona Hall, a qualified and accredited psychotherapist/ counsellor.

Children’s Internet Safety & Cyberbullying Talk for Parents/Guardians with Lorna Lee from Barnardos
The talk is for Parents/Guardians on the topic of their children’s internet safety and cyberbullying, including time for questions. It offers Parents/Guardians the opportunity to consider how they can increase their child’s online safety and what to do if they suspect their child is experiencing cyberbullying. Parents are encouraged to focus on how they can monitor their child’s use and online behavior. Information will be provided in relation to the mobile apps their child may be using and associated safety considerations. This talk is running at the following Libraries:

Bully-Proof Kids: Practical Tools to Help your Child Grow Up Confident, Resilient and Strong with Psychotherapist, Stella O’ Malley
We can’t always be there to protect our kids as they make their way in the world. What we can do is equip them with the tools they need to ensure they have a positive social experience. Based on many years' experience counselling bullies and targets, Stella O'Malley offers concrete strategies to empower children and teenagers to deal confidently with bullying and dominant characters. She identifies effective ways for families to cope when bullying occurs, including approaching the school authorities, communicating with the bully's parents and tips to tackle cyberbullying. Stella's common-sense approach will help your child, tween or teen to develop their emotional intelligence and will provide relief for families navigating the rapidly changing social environment, both online and in school. Úna Smyth from Swords Library will be on hand to show you how to get the most out of Healthy Ireland at Your Library. Úna will walk you through how to access the various resources which includes e-Books, e-Audio books, e-Magazines and a range of online courses. This will be an open session therefore no booking is required. Just drop in and let us help you stay happy and healthy this year.
