A talk on Dunsink Observatory
Sam Green from the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies will give a talk on Dunsink Observatory. Dunsink Observatory, now part of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS), is the oldest purpose-built scientific research centre in Ireland, having opened in 1785 as the observatory attached to Trinity College Dublin.
Thursday 23rd August at 6.30 – 7.30 pm. All welcome.

Notify next of kin: sources for family history - workshop by Fiona Fitzsimons of Eneclann In this workshop, genealogist Fiona Fitzsimons examines wills and testamentary records, cemetery/ burial records and gravestones, newspaper records, and tontines. Using case-studies, she will explore where evidence can be found and how to use it to build your research and write your family history narrative.
