Traveller Accommodation
The Traveller Accommodation Unit of the Housing Department is responsible for the housing needs of the travelling community within the Fingal area, which numbers approximately 400 families
Traveller Accommodation Programme
Under the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act, 1998, the Council is required in consultation with travellers and the general public to prepare and adopt a five year Traveller Accommodation Programme. The current Accommodation Programme covers the period 2009 – 2013.
Under Section 21 of the Housing Act (Traveller Accommodation) 1998 a Local Authority is required to appoint an Accommodation Consultative Committee, comprised of Councillors, Traveller Representatives and Council Officials.
