Lead Pipe Replacement Grant

If your home has lead pipes and plumbing that need to be replaced, or you have a recent water quality test result that shows above normal levels of lead in your water supply, you may qualify for a Lead Pipe Replacement Grant.  

The level of grant you may qualify for is based on your gross household income.

Then, if you meet the criteria please print out and fill in the Lead Grant Scheme Application Form, and return it to Water Services Department, Fingal County Council, Civic Offices, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, D15 W638.

These grants are payable under the Domestic Lead Remediation (Financial Assistance) Regulations 2016 (S.I. No. 56 of 2016)

Well Grants 

If your home has a have a private well supply that is in need of works, you may qualify to apply for a well grant.

Approval Costs

The approved costs is calculated by the local authority and is an estimate of the reasonable cost of the works.

Do I Qualify?

Amount of Grant:

The amount of the grant will be :

75% of the approved cost (or revised approved cost)  or

€2,031.58  -  whichever is the lesser

The least amount payable to the applicant is €634.87.

The initial form  (WG1) should be completed and sent into the Local Authorities Water Servives Department. 

Inspection by the Water Engineer will be carried out and if the applicant qualifies for the Grant a Certificate of Provisional Approval (WG2) will be sent out to him/her.

Applicant must return completed WG2 Form with invoices, receipts and Well record sheet when works are complete. The person who carried out the work must hold a C2 certificate.

Local authority will check with DoELG to see if applicant did not receive a simiilar Grant in the previous 7 years.     

Applicant must have two water samples taken from the Well when work is complete and sampled by an authorised sampler.

Send sample results into Local Authority. 

If all works pass the applicant will receive the appropriate grant which is then recouped from the DoELG by the Local Authority on a specific recoupment form.
