Tidy Towns Pollinator Awards

Let's Get Buzzing!

‌‌A new Pollinator Award, sponsored by the Heritage and Biodiversity Officers of local Authorities across Ireland has just been launched. The Award encourages Tidy Towns Groups to implement pollinator friendly actions in their towns and villages as part of the Tidy Towns competition. The aim of the award is to help reverse the decline of Irish bees by providing them with more food and places to nest. This can be done through simple, low-cost actions, such as planting pollinator friendly trees and shrubs, and changing mowing regimes.

You can find out more about the scheme and download further information, including the guidelines for local communities to follow, on the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan page of www.biodiversityireland.ie/

Tidy Towns groups can apply to take part, please contact the National Tidy Towns at www.TidyTowns.ie
