Economic Development Initiatives
Economic Development
Councils can run economic development initiatives to facilitate and encourage economic and business development to improve the attractiveness of the local area as a place to invest.
Dublin Enterprise Zone
The Dublin Enterprise Zone is located in Dublin, seven kilometres northwest of the city centre, within the administrative area of Fingal County Council. The Dublin Enterprise Zone is located in Blanchardstown, a suburb of Dublin with a population of 100,000 people. The Dublin Enterprise Zone has grown rapidly in recent years to become a significant national economic asset.
The location of the Dublin Enterprise Zone, on the edge of Dublin City allows easy access to 1.2 million consumers, and numerous suppliers.
The Dublin Enterprise Zone’s success to date is due to the significant investment which has taken place in hard and soft infrastructure by Fingal County Council, IDA Ireland and the private sector over the last 20 years.
The Dublin Enterprise Zone maintains a pro-business environment that has attracted investments by some of the world’s biggest companies over the past decade.
