Flooding can have several causes. It may be due to a weather event, overflowing river banks, coastal storms or blocked or overloaded drainage ditches. We have listed some information on what you should do if you encounter flooding in your area. 

Reporting Flooding Out of Hours

For out of hours flooding emergencies please contact (01) 8905000.

 

Remember

Never walk or drive through floodwater. There may be obstacles under the surface that could cause injury. Water could be contaminated and pose a risk to your health.

Reporting Flooding During Office Hours

For flooding due to a weather event such as excess rain and storms, you should report the issue to our Operations Department.

If major flooding is due to a sewage problem you should report the issue to Irish Water on 1890 278 278.
