Christmas Eve Feeding of Reindeer Cancelled

It is regrettable that the Council is not in a position to host the annual Christmas Eve Reindeer feeding as has been the case for the past number of years. What started out as a local, low key, informal event has now grown into a family occasion  where in excess of 5,000 people attended in 2018. This volume of attendees has raised crowd safety and traffic management concerns, both within the Demesne and on the adjacent road network.

It is envisaged that this event will return in 2020  with the completion of the road network improvements in the area and allow for adequate event licensing permissions and traffic management plans to be in place.
