Severe wind and flood warning for Fingal UPDATED 4.15pm

Met Eireann has issued a Level Orange severe weather wind alert for Fingal from 8am to 3pm on Monday.

Residents and motorists in Sutton, Malahide, Portmarnock, Skerries, Balbriggan, Rush , Portrane are advised to be aware of the threat posed by flooding tomorrow.

High tide is expected at 1pm in Fingal. Residents and motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution today. The highest threat is in Sutton, Baldoyle, Portmarnock, Malahide, Portrane, Rush, Skerries & Balbriggan.

Sandbags are available for collection from our Watery Lane Depot in Swords. Eircode is K67 HA21. High tide is at 13:00. Flooding is expected in coastal areas with the highest threat in Sutton, Baldoyle, Portmarnock, Malahide, Portrane, Rush, Skerries & Balbriggan.

As Storm Brendan tracks to the northwest of Ireland, southerly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 70 km/h with gusts of 100 to 120 km/h, higher in exposed areas. 

There is a high risk of coastal flooding in Fingal tomorrow as a result of the incoming #StormBrendan and a higher than normal spring tide.



Residents and Motorists in the following areas are advised to be particularly aware of the threat posed and not to park cars in areas prone to flooding.



SUTTON: Strand Road.

MALAHIDE: Estuary Road, Bissett's Strand.

PORTMARNOCK: Roundabout, Coast Road (R106 Portmarnock-Baldoyle) & Drumnigh Road.

SKERRIES: Harbour Road, Miller's Lane, & Skerries Rugby Club.

BALBRIGGAN: Quay Street Car Park.

RUSH: Sprout Road, Sailing Club & Channel Road.

PORTRANE: The Burrow.
