Taoiseach visits Social Housing Scheme in Fingal
The Carr’s Lane site comprises 22 one-bedroom apartments, 30 two-bedroom apartments and seven three-bedroom apartments with car and cycle parking spaces.
The Taoiseach, Michael Martin, TD, and the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Darragh O’Brien, TD, joined Mayor of Fingal, Cllr David Healy, on a visit to see the the ongoing construction of 59 new social and affordable homes at Carr’s Lane, Malahide Road.
The Carr’s Lane site comprises 22 one-bedroom apartments, 30 two-bedroom apartments and seven three-bedroom apartments with car and cycle parking spaces.
A range of retail and public facilities are nearby including schools, health services and sports venues.
The development is led by Respond, an Approved Housing Body (AHB), in partnership with Fingal County Council under Rebuilding Ireland.
Funding has come from Fingal County Council, the Department of Housing, Heritage and Local Government, and the Housing Finance Agency.
During the site visit, Mayor Healy said: “Provision of social and affordable housing is a priority for Fingal, and I commend Respond for partnering with Fingal to advance our efforts under the Rebuilding Ireland programme.
“As Covid-19 is a continuing reality, it is very positive that the vital work of providing housing has proceeded in compliance with public health and industry safety guidelines.”

The scheme is due for completion in Q3 2021.
All construction work is undertaken in line with the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Construction Sector C-19 Pandemic Standard Operating Procedure and Health Service Executive (HSE) guidelines.
