ANCA has published aircraft noise exposure contour maps for 2021

The Aircraft Noise Competent Authority has published noise exposure contours for 2021 for the areas around Dublin Airport. An interactive map is available that facilitates the entry of an address or Eircode to examine the aircraft noise impact at a particular location down to the level of individual properties.

Legislation requires contour maps to be prepared in a standard format across the European Union. These include separate contour maps for the night-time period and the combined day-evening-night periods for noise as averaged across a full calendar year.  

Although the COVID-19 pandemic continued to have an impact on aviation activity during 2021, these contours contribute to an understanding of the aircraft noise climate as it evolves at and around Dublin Airport through a comparison of the noise exposure contours as previously published for 2019 and 2020.
