Tenders issued for re-surfacing of Balbriggan car parks

Fingal County Council has issued tenders for the re-surfacing of two existing car parks and associated site works in Bremore Regional Park, Balbriggan.

They are at Bremore Castle, Drogheda Street, and at Bath Road, beside the Balbriggan FC clubhouse.

These works will involve surfacing the two car parks with self-binding stone aggregate to produce a serviceable, smooth finish as an interim surface prior to more long-term works.

The long-term works, which will benefit from the interim surfacing works, would not be completed in the time-frame required for the car parks being available for use later this year.

The longer-term solution to the surfacing of these car parks will involve very significant drainage, kerbing, surfacing, ducting, lighting works and extensive tree and shrub planting . These works will be subject to a further, combined procurement process and a works programme which will take a considerable amount of time to implement.

The interim surfacing solution, which will be implemented in the coming months, has been used very successfully at Shackleton Gardens in Clonsilla in recent months.
