Fingal United Community Art Project
Fingal United Community Art Project
The Fingal United community art project aims to create one united piece of art - a symbol of connectivity. 200 people of all ages will be invited to a series of workshops over 2 weeks (8 two-hour workshops in total with 25 people at each workshop) to participate in a group art project. Each participant will create one tile (canvas 15cm x 15cm) in a specific range of colours. Everyone who wants, will be able to purchase a set which will include a canvas, paints, brushes, and small instruction. All the tiles will be applied onto a large-scale plywood background (250cmx250cm). The combined pieces of art will portray, in the shape of Fingal County, a picture of a rainbow symbolizing unity, peace and lgbtqia+ with green colours representing the emerald isle. The finished art work will be covered with resin to display and protect it. It will preferably be displayed in a local shopping centre for everyone to see.
