Voter Participation for People with Disabilities
Learn how to engage with Local Election candidates about issues that matter to you
Take advantage of two free workshops provided by the Fingal County Council Community Development Office in conjunction with Disability Federation of Ireland this coming April.
These workshops will equip you with the knowledge and skills to effectively communicate your concerns and issues to Local Election candidates ahead of the Local Elections due to take place on 7th June.
Engaging with Local Election candidates about issues that matter to you, especially regarding disability rights and other local issues, is essential for ensuring that your concerns are heard and addressed by those who represent you in your local area.
These workshops will assist people with disabilities to identify the specific issues that matter to you and your community before engaging with candidates.
Following these workshops, participants will draft a list of questions to ask candidates in a hustings event ahead of the Local Elections. This will present an opportunity to engage directly with candidates, ask questions and share your perspectives on disability issues in your local area.
