Who Is Eligible To Vote?

To be eligible to vote you must be at least 18 years old and ordinarily resident in Ireland.

Citizenship determines the electoral events at which a person may vote:

Dáil, Local, European Parliament Elections and Referendums

British Citizens

Dáil and Local Elections

EU Citizens

European and Local Elections

Other

All others can vote in Local Elections Only

In order to exercise your right to vote you must be registered on the register of electors.
