Election of Chairs and appointments to committees carried out

The Annual Meeting of Fingal County Council, which was adjourned on Friday following the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor resumed on Monday evening to fill several other key positions and appoint members to the various committees and statutory bodies.

The election of the three Area Committee chairs was deferred to the July meeting of the Council but the seven chairs of the Strategic Policy Committees were elected to facilitate the setting up of the Corporate Policy Group. The new SPC chairs will be assigned to their respective committees once the Strategic Policy Committee Scheme 2024-2029 has been published and approved.

The new Strategic Policy Committee Chairs are:

1. Cllr Joe Newman
2. Cllr Angela Donnelly
3. Cllr Eoghan O'Brien
4. Cllr Kieran Dennison
5. Cllr Eoghan Dockrell
6. Cllr Robert O'Donoghue
7. Cllr Darragh Butler

Appointments were also made various Statutory Bodies, Boards and Committees and these can be viewed at https://www.fingal.ie/councillor-appointments. A number of the appointments were deferred until the July meeting of the Council.
