Annually, the Aircraft Noise Competent Authority (ANCA) is required to review the measures in place at Dublin Airport to reduce aircraft noise emissions where possible and mitigate the impact of aviation activity where needed.

Through a process of detailed assessment and consultation, ANCA established an aircraft noise management plan for the airport during 2022 called a noise abatement objective (NAO). The NAO contains provisions to limit and reduce the number of people exposed to aircraft noise. It also contains longer term targets which seek to reduce the health impacts of aircraft noise.

The report, A review of the effectiveness of noise mitigation measures at Dublin Airport in achieving the noise abatement objective during 2023, has been published.
