Ring Commons Pitch & Putt Club was the setting for the Final of the Fingal and East Meath Pitch & Putt Championship on Friday, August 9th. Councillor Corina Johnston, Acting Mayor of Fingal attended the competition and presented the prizes and perpetual trophy to the winning Pitch & Putt club.

Teams from Bellewstown, Laytown, Ringcommons, Ballyboughal and last year’s champions, Rathfeigh, all teed off for a competitive final.  The competition, played across five evenings during July and August, has become a summer fixture in the Pitch & Putt Calendar. Each club provides a host venue providing home advantage to their team.  Rathfeigh  Pitch & Putt Club were the first club to host the competition, and they gained a substantial points lead from the start and were not to be caught.   They emerged victorious over their Fingal and East Meath neighbours and Meath were crowned the Champions of the Fingal and East Meath Pitch & Putt Championship for second year in a row. Captain Jimmy Browne accepted the trophy on behalf of the club from Councillor Corina Johnston.

The Fingal & East Meath Pitch Putt Championship was established in 2015, to promote the game of Pitch & Putt in Fingal and as part of a cross-county initiative. Developed by Caitríona Geraghty, Fingal Sports Office, under the guidance of Ronnie Delaney from the Ballyboughal Pitch & Putt Club, the Championship continues to grow in popularity among club members.
