Seven projects in Fingal receive over €590k toward enhancing local community facilities

On Monday 24th of February, Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD announced over €14 million in funding to deliver 185 community projects across the country as part of the Community Recognition Fund 2024. Fingal has welcomed €596,802 in funding as part of Call 2, set to support a series of initiatives surrounding retrofitting, renovation, development, transport and more.

The Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh, welcomed the announcement by the Department of Rural and Community Development, saying: “To secure over €595,000 in Call 2 of the Community Recognition Fund will make a significant impact to community initiatives throughout Fingal. This allocation helps to acknowledge the great work and remarkable efforts of our community groups in making Fingal a great place to live, visit and work.”

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, added: “Through this continued investment under the Community Recognition Fund, to support towns and villages who have welcomed new arrivals, these communities will now enjoy upgrades to their sports facilities, community centres, recreational trails, community parks and play spaces.”
