Hockey Finals Fingal 2025

For the first time ever, Donabate in Fingal played host to three of Irish Hockey’s Prestigious Cup Finals on Sunday, the Irish Hockey Challenge Cup and both the Men’s & Women’s Irish Junior Cup Finals.

On what was a very special occasion the day began under bright sunshine, and it was wonderful to have Mayor of Fingal Cllr Brian McDonagh join Vice President of Hockey Ireland Barbara O Malley to greet the teams and make the presentations to all the competing squads.

An incredible day of hockey in Donabate saw the destinations of the Irish Hockey Men’s Challenge Cup and Irish Junior Cups determined.

A massive congratulations to Catholic Institute, Limerick who triumphed over Mossley in the Men's Irish Hockey Challenge, to Three Rock Rovers and Pembroke Wanderers who secured the Men's and Women's Irish Junior Cups with wins against Portrane and Catholic Institute in great games played in front of large vocal support from all competing teams.

Mayor of Fingal Cllr Brian McDonagh was on hand to make medal presentations to the finalists. He stressed the importance of Fingal Sports commitment to Hockey development and the "diligent work of Fingal County Council in developing the sport in the local community".

He thanked Portrane Hockey Club and its partners Donabate Community College and the superb Donabate Portrane Community Centre for contributing so much to a very special day and is in no doubt that hockey will "continue to grow as a sport and popular physical activity across the County".
