Swords Castle and Town Park
The Castle situated in the centre of the ancient town of Swords is the only fortified residence of the Archbishop to survive in a reasonable state today. The buildings that make up the Castle form a rough pentagon enclosing an area of approximately 0.5 Ha with a perimeter wall of 305 meters. The Castle was built over a period of 400 years starting before 1200 A.D.
Swords Town Park is in the centre of Swords right next to the Castle. The park is a perfect spot for a walk and includes amenities such as tennis courts.
The Castle is open October to March, Tuesday - Sunday (excl Bank Holidays) from 9.30 am to 4 pm, last entry at 3.30pm, Closed Mondays and March to October, Tuesday to Sunday (excl Bank Holidays) from 9.30am to 5 pm, Closed Mondays.

The Castle, and town, is easily reached by public transport as the town is serviced by Dublin Bus routes 33, 33B, 41, 41B and 43 from Eden Quay in Dublin City to Swords Town Centre.
