Fingal Climate Action & Bike Week Family Fun Day in Millennium Park

Saturday 09 May, 12pm-6pm on the Learn 2 Cycle Track in Millennium Park, Blanchardstown

Kick off Bike Week with a celebration of sustainability, cycling and fun! 

We have activities for the whole family including the street velodrome, archery street games, free bike repair, turning tides sea aquarium, the Dublin 15 Toy Library and much more.

Balance Bike Buddies Party - Holywell Learn 2 Cycle Track

Sunday 10th May, 9:30am – 10:30am  

Age Range: 2yr - 5yr

We’ll have The Green Roots on hand playing music, decorating bikes and leading our Balance Bike Parade and we’ll have some Bike Week goodies for all our Balance Bike Buddies as well. No need to register, simply show up on the morning and enjoy the party.

The Mayor's Cycle - Skerries Mills

Mayor of Fingal, Tom O’Leary invites you to join our 5km Mayor's Cycle around Skerries. This is a free community cycle, led by Skerries Cycling Initiative around the town. The event is a slow, relaxed family cycle to celebrate Bike Week in Skerries. Join us afterwards for tea/coffee from The Last Lap Café. Donabate Historical Cycling Tour

Tuesday 12th & Saturday 16th May at 10:30am (90min tour)  

We have partnered with East Coast Bike Hire to bring you on a lovely historical tour around the Donabate area by bike. The tour will take in Newbridge House and its environs as well as other areas of historical significance around the Village.  

The tours last 90mins and includes your bike hire & helmet from our partner, East Coast Bike Hire.

Variety Come & Try Cycling Event

Wednesday 13th May, 10am - 1pm Learn 2 Cycle Track, Millennium Park

Variety Ireland were responsible for Ireland’s first “Cycling Inclusion Centre of Excellence” in Collinstown Sports Complex. The centre supports children with additional needs to get cycling on a range of adapted bikes. The Centre is run in partnership with the DDLETB and Active South Dublin. Plans are in place to open two similar centres in Fingal later this year and we are offering groups an opportunity to try out the bikes. Lucan BMX Come and Try Sessions for Schools at St. Catherine's Park

Wednesday & Thursday 13th & 14th May, 1hr time slots from 10am to 2pm  

Lucan BMX are hosting free 1hr workshops for schools. Suitable for 6th class pupils and older. Each hour long lesson takes 26 students. Sessions finish at 3pm. For more information, email [email protected] .

The Fingal Superhero Cycle – Schools Competition

Friday 15th May 

We believe all cyclists are superheroes, so we’re looking for schools to sign up and host a superhero cycle on Friday 15th May. All students have to do is dress themselves or their bike up as their favourite superhero and cycle to school. Schools who sign up will be entered into a draw for the chance to win a free bike safety check day for their school in June!

Bremore Family Fun Day

Saturday 16th May, 11am – 4pm

Come and join us at the Playground behind Bremore Castle for our Balbriggan Family Day, suitable for all ages. We’ll have bike safety checks, street games, the Fireride Cycling Skills Course and lots more for all the family. Parking is available at Bremore Castle. Baldoyle Biosphere Festival

Saturday 16th - Baldoyle Biosphere Community Cycle – Baldoyle Community Hall 

Time: 1pm (60min cycle)

We have partnered up with Baldoyle Wildtowns to host a relaxed and informative cycle around the Biosphere. The cycle will outline some of the unique biodiversity in the area and take in Racecourse Park and the Greenway. The cycle is open and free for all. Malahide Pedal Parade - New Street

Join us on New Street in Malahide at 11:15am for our annual Malahide Pedal Parade. The Green Roots Project will be there to help decorate children’s Bikes and lead us on a short family cycle from New Street to the Family Fun Day taking place at Malahide Castle. Finish off Dublin Climate Action & Bike Week with our inclusive, free family fun day taking place infront of Malahide Castle on the green area. Activities include a pop up BMX skills track, free bike repair, street games, cycling without age trishaw trips, the turning tides pop up aquarium, pedal powered cycling games, bike orienteering as well as movies on the lawn from 2pm.

Bike Week is all about getting out on the bike, regardless of how long or how far you go, so we’re looking to celebrate every trip! #BetterByBike is simple, all you need to do is complete one cycling trip during the week, send us on the picture of your trip with your bike, and we’ll get your Medal to you!
