Create a Haven for Wildlife - New Heritage Officer guide

Gardening for Biodiversity is a new free booklet from the Local Authority Heritage Officer Network to help everyone to help wildlife in their gardens. The brainchild of Juanita Browne, the booklet was produced by Local Authority Heritage Officers across Ireland, with help from the National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Heritage Council.

Spring into Storytime

Though the physical libraries are closed, storytime is still taking place virtually. Spring Into Storytime is a national initiative that takes place during the months of April and May 2020 and celebrates the importance of sharing stories and reading together as a family. Stories are read both by library staff and by Irish authors and can be found on Fingal Libraries' YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_6CWbONIz0-YxDP1aTnGiA

County Hall hosts Irish Musicians during Seachtain na Gaeilge

Fingal County Council hosted a night of traditional Irish music on Tuesday, March 10, as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. Musicians Paudie O’Connor, Aoife Ní Chaoimh and Caoimhín Ó Fearghail performed in County Hall along with musicians from Craobh Sean Treacy Comhaltas.

Book Launch – Wednesday 4th March 6.30pm at Donabate Library

Mayor of Fingal, Councillor Eoghan O’Brien, will officially launch two new books by local author Gerard Ronan entitled Margaret Evans – Poet of Portrane and Sophia Parnell-Evans – Feminism, Politics and Farming in 19th Century Portrane on Wednesday 4th March at 6.30pm at Donabate Library.
