Street Furniture Licence

Development Management

A Street Furniture Licence is required prior to the placement of tables and chairs outside a premises where food is sold. 

In accordance with the Section 254 Planning and Development (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2021 (S.I. No. 210 of 2021), which came into force on the 30th April, 2021, all tables and chairs as well as awnings, coverings, canopies, parasols, shades, windbreakers, heaters or other similar structure for the purpose of facilitating outdoor dining must be licenced.

In order to apply for a Street Furniture Licence, you must apply for an on-site consultation below. Once this consultation is complete, the Street Furniture Licence Application Form 2024 must be filled in and sent to [email protected]

All applications will be individually assessed under public health, fire safety and public circulation criteria and terms and conditions will be advised There is currently no fee for Street Furniture Licences under COVID-19 measures to support businesses.
