The Brook Beach
The Brook Beach, Portrane is a long sandy beach, 2km in length and extends from the village of Portrane northwards into the Rogerstown Estuary.
The main access to the beach is in Portrane Village in the vicinity of the Brook Inn.
Dublin Bus runs the 33b from Swords, which stops 2 minutes' walk from the bus stop. If you're going via Irish Rail, the beach is a 40 minute walk from Donabate train station. If you're travelling by car, check the Google map link at the Location sidebar on the right of this page to plan your route.
Facilities include a public car park, public toilets, and a lifeguard station operational during summer months only. Lifeguards are on duty from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays in June and every day from July to August.
Brook Beach is an identified beach under the Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008 (SI No. 79 of 2008). The water quality is monitored regularly from mid-June to mid-September every year. Water quality results are available on the beach noticeboard and on the EPA website www.beaches.ie.
