Artist Talk and Exhibition by Amanda Dunsmore Join us at 7 PM Friday, October 4th at the Carnegie Library, North Street, Swords for an insightful talk by artist Amanda Dunsmore, marking the commencement of her residency at the library.

Amanda has been invited by the Fingal County Council Arts Office as part of the Decade of Commemorations programme to explore the history and legacy of local government in Fingal. Through conversations with local archivists, councillors, and historians, Amanda will develop an art project rooted in the social and political history of the county. During the evening, Amanda will speak about her artistic practice and share her plans for this unique residency. Her powerful work, MEMENTO – AGREEMENT will also be exhibited at the Carnegie. MEMENTO – AGREEMENT is a series of 14 artworks based on Amanda Dunsmore’s recollections of making the silent filmed portraits which comprise the artwork AGREEMENT. AGREEMENT started in 2004 with an aim to film and acknowledge the important roles played by all the signatories of the Belfast 'Good Friday' Agreement.

The artwork MEMENTO – AGREEMENT is a body of work that was developed to understand the process and journey related to the embodied interactions that occurred within the filming and production of 14 filmed portraits of signatories of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement.

The exhibition will be open to the public:

● Friday, October 4th from 7 PM to 8:30 PM

● Sunday, October 6th from 12 noon to 5 PM.
