Saturday 13 May, 8pm: Shackleton ‘Celtic’ 90 mn Duo Chagall are delighted to welcome Irish icon Brian Kennedy for what promises to be a spectacular evening of entertainment. Our other guests are two of Ireland’s most promising young artists, singer/TV presenter Sibeal Ni Chasaide and awardwinning piper Sorcha Ni Scolai. They will be backed by the Fingal Ensemble led by Gillian Williams as well as a four-piece band, for a selection of the best in Irish mainstream traditional and popular genres.
Sunday 14 May, 4pm: Shackleton ‘Cinematic’ 60 mn One hour of some of the best film music, including blockbuster tunes ‘Schindler’s list’, ‘The English Patient’, ‘Ladies in Lavender’. Led by violin soloist Gillian Williams, the orchestra will feature the Fingal Ensemble augmented by a full complement of wind, brass and percussion, conducted by Ciaran Crilly.
DUO CHAGALL are one of the longest-established classical music partnerships in Ireland. Gillian Williams, violin, and Arun Rao, cello, have promoted classical music in Fingal over the last fifteen years, essentially through their brainchild, the chamber music series AUTUMN SOUNDS which they brought to audiences from every part of the county every year since 2010 (including online during the pandemic). They will again direct the Fingal Ensemble in what promises to be an exciting new event for Fingal music lovers.
