Shine a light for Women Millennium Park Blanchardstown

Join Fingal County Council`s Community Office, Mayor of Fingal and Chief Executive in Millennium Park Blanchardstown on 8th March 2022 at 6pm to Celebrate International Women’s day and Shine a light on Gender Bias and Safety Issues for Women

The theme for International Women’s Day 2022 year is breaking the bias however with continued concerns around women’s safety the Community Office want to stand in solidarity with women in Dublin 15 to Shine a light on these issues. Fingal County Council community office will lead on an event in the Millennium Park. The Shine the light event is an opportunity to invite the community to celebrate international women`s day in a safe open space.

The Millennium Park Shine the light event will consist of the following activity:

6.00pm   Meet at Playground in Millennium park where you can collect your light from our team

6.10pm   Speech from Mayor of Fingal Cllr Seána Ó Rodaigh and Fingal County Council Chief Executive AnnMarie Farrelly

6.25pm   Tree Planting by Mayor 

7.00pm   Just as its getting dark, walk a lap of the park Lighting the way by placing your tea light along the path.

7.30pm Meet back at playground shine a light for drone picture.

7.35pm Event Ends Exit Millennium park.

7.40pm Park Closes

 

This project gives FCC the opportunity to work across different departments, bringing operations, and the Community and Sports department together in collaboration. It also gives the community office opportunity to support social inclusion of women across the Dublin 15 area and encourages them to participate and raise awareness of issues that affect their lives.
