Annual Halloween Amnesty at Recycling Centres 2020
Combustible materials (beds, sofas, wooden doors etc.) will be accepted free of charge at Fingal County Council’s Recycling Centres for residents of Fingal from Wednesday, October 21 to Saturday, October 31, excluding Sunday and Bank Holiday.
The amnesty is being extended with additional free days added as a means of supporting local communities. The additional days are included to provide the public with increased access to the recycle centres which are operating under Covid Social Distancing protocols with strict allowance on the number of cars in the centres at any given time.
People are reminded that they must adhere to the Government guidelines of staying within 5km of their homes under the new Level 5 restrictions coming into force at midnight on Wednesday, October 21.
Coolmine Recycling Centre is open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday. Estuary Recycling Centre is open 8am to 8pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays.
It should be NOTED the last entry to the Recycling Centres between these dates will be no later than one hour before closing time due to the large volume of vehicles expected i.e. 3pm in Coolmine and 7pm in Estuary Recycling Centre and 5pm on Saturdays.
This initiative is provided to assist in the protection of open spaces by reducing potential waste disposal on local bonfires. In the past this initiative has delivered successfully in reducing the damage to public open spaces and subsequent clean ups.
Residents wishing to avail of this service will be required to produce proof of address.
Please note that large vans or commercial vehicles are not allowed access to the Recycling Centres without prior arrangement.
