Fingal County Council this afternoon received a planning application from Dublin Airport operator daa seeking to raise the passenger cap at Dublin Airport from 32million to 36million passengers per annum.

The Noise Action Plan for Dublin Airport 2024-2028, which has been published by Fingal County Council, highlights the problematic aspects of aircraft noise exposure at the airport as well identifying areas for improvement.

The additional information submitted by daa on November 13 in relation to planning application F23A/0781 is significant as determined by the Planning Authority. Public consultation has now recommenced with a deadline of January 8, 2025, for third party observations and submissions.

Fingal County Council today received documentation from the daa, the Dublin Airport Authority, in response to its request last February for 85 items of Further Information relating to planning application F23A/0781.

Annually, the Aircraft Noise Competent Authority (ANCA) is required to review the measures in place at Dublin Airport to reduce aircraft noise emissions where possible and mitigate the impact of aviation activity where needed.

The aircraft noise contours for 2023 have been published on the ANCA website. 2023 was the first full year of aircraft operations at Dublin Airport since the new north runway came into operation.

The 2023 annual report of the Aircraft Noise Competent Authority has been published and is now available to view online or download.
