A year on from the launch of the Our Balbriggan Rejuvenation Plan, the transformation of Ireland’s youngest town is taking shape, with substantial progress announced across a range of objectives.
Balbriggan has been chosen as Ireland’s first town to be named as a Smart District in a move that will put it at the cutting edge of smart projects to improve services, create jobs and build a better community.
As part of the #RestartFingal initiative to help businesses across the county get back up and running, Fingal County Council is inviting applications from those businesses interested in expanding into the public realm by placing street furniture outside their premises.
Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
Fingal County Council, Sports Office in conjunction with Dublin City and County Councils and the network of Local Sports Partnerships are coming together to provide a free, 6 week, Couch to 3k programme, starting the week of Monday, June 29th. This event is planned directly after the National Be Active Day on Sunday 28th June.
The Strategy showcases the many benefits digital can make to our health, happiness and wellbeing, from supporting the economy and enabling remote working, to enhancing access to education, learning and social connectivity.
The initiative brings together places across the EU with similar issues to focus on identifying and strengthening local economic development opportunities through plans such as Our Balbriggan, and consolidates Ireland’s ties with Europe.
Rather than focusing on the organisation of in-person public events, local heritage groups and organisers, families and communities are being invited to develop projects around this year’s theme of ‘Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage’.
