The next census in Ireland will take place on 3 April 2022. This will be the 26th census since 1841.
The census is one of the most important undertakings in the country. It is important for you, your family, your parents and children, your local community, your county, your region and for your country.
On Sunday night, 3 April, everyone in Ireland must be included in the census. Your Census Enumerator will deliver a census form to your home between March and census date. They will return to collect your completed census form between 4 April and 6 May.
The census results are widely used across all sectors of society. They provide vital information to help plan for services such as health, education, transport, childcare and care for the elderly in our communities now and in the future.
Be counted and be a voice for yourself, your family and your community.
The census is carried out by the Central Statistics Office.
