Fingal announces celebrations taking place this St. Patrick's Day

Get ready to don your green attire and immerse yourself in the festivities as St. Patrick's Day sweeps across Fingal on Sunday, 17 March.

St. Patrick's Day holds a special place in the hearts of the Irish, and Fingal is no exception, so this year there will be seven parades for people to get along to. From traditional music to lively dance performances, the county will come alive with the essence of Irish culture and community spirit. Inviting all to join in the festivities, with parades set to unfold in various towns throughout the county.



Locations Include:

  • Swords – the parade will kick-off at 11am from the Coláiste Choilm School, travelling down Main Street and finishing at North Street, Swords Castle Town Park. 
  • Blanchardstown - commencing at 12pm from Castleknock Road, all the way through the Main Street and finishing at Blanchardstown Town Centre at Library/Draíocht Plaza. 
  • Balbriggan – starting at 12pm from Bremore Castle Car Park, the route will go to St. Peter & Pauls Church. Pre- and post-parade entertainment will be hosted at The Lark Stage in George's Square from 11am to 2pm.
  • Malahide - beginning at 2pm, the floats and displays set sail from Malahide Cricket Club on their way to Malahide Beach Car Park.
  • Additional community led parades will be held at Rush (1pm); Lusk (1:30pm); and Skerries (3pm). For more details on these please see: Rush Community Council, Lusk Community Council and Visit Skerries

Residents are advised to check what road closures will be in place surrounding parade routes. Additionally, local restrictions may be enforced from Saturday March 16th to help facilitate route and viewing platform setup.
