Fingal County Council has been named Local Authority of the Year at the InBusiness Recognition Awards 2019.

The award was accepted by Deputy Mayor of Fingal Cllr Tom Kitt at the awards ceremony held in the Westbury Hotel in Dublin.

Cllr Kitt said: “I am delighted to accept the InBusiness Award for Best County Council. A key part of our mission statement is to make Fingal the best place in Ireland to do business in and winning this award for the second successive year indicates that the work we are doing on the ground is having a positive effect on the business community.”

Cllr Kitt added: “There is a growing recognition amongst all stakeholders of the importance of local authorities and our ability to get things done. We are the closest government agency to the citizen, and business, and are therefore best placed to deliver services directly to them.”

Fingal County Council Chief Executive AnnMarie Farrelly said: “It is a great honour to receive this accolade in recognition of our efforts to improve the quality of services we deliver to all our stakeholders. Part of our vision for Fingal is to make it a good place to do business in, so it is particularly pleasing to be recognised for our efforts in this area.”
