Latest Bathing Water Quality Results

All identified bathing waters sampled on 26th August 2024 have met the standard for excellent, Brook Beach Portrane was sufficient but excellent after retest 28th. In addition, Malahide beach has met the standard for good.

The result of the bathing water sample taken on Monday 2nd September from Front Strand beach, Balbriggan has met the standard for good.

All identified bathing waters sampled on  26th August, 2024 have all met the standard for excellent with the exception of The Brook Beach, Portrane which has met the standard for sufficient water quality.  A re-sample of this bathing water was arranged and results met the standard for excellent on Friday 30th August.

In addition, the non-identified bathing water at Malahide beach (permanent red flag for swimming) sampled on 26th August has a result of good water quality.

A resample of Front Strand Balbriggan bathing water is proposed for Monday next 9th September with results due 11th September.

Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
