New councillor co-opted to Fingal County Council
Cllr JK Onwumereh of Fianna Fail has been co-opted by the members of Fingal County Council to replace the late Cllr Freddie Cooper who passed away in June. He will represent the Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart Local Electoral Area.
Cllr Onwumereh was proposed by Cllr Howard Mahony and seconded by Cllr Darragh Butler at this evening’s monthly meeting of the Council.
The new councillor was welcomed to the Council by the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Seána Ó Rodaigh and the Chief Executive AnnMarie Farrelly as well as Cllr Kieran Dennison, Cllr Mary McCamley, Cllr Natalie Treacy, Cllr Daniel Whooley, Cllr Tom Kitt and Cllr Jimmy Guerin.
Cllr Onwumereh said: “I hope to build on the great work that Freddie was doing for the area with hard work and dedication.”
Cllr Onwumereh was also appointed to the Community Development, Heritage, Culture and Creativity Strategic Policy Committee; the Joint Fingal and South Dublin Liffey Valley Management Advisory Committee; the Joint Policing Committee; Hansfield SDZ; and the County Heritage Forum.
Cllr Cathal Boland (Independent) was appointed to represent Fingal County Council at the Airport Regions Conference
