Refurb work on pipeline at Burrow Beach to commence

Burrow Beach

Works will begin on Tuesday 18th of March to refurbish the existing Burrow Beach surface water outfall pipe which lies across the beach at Sutton.

The pipe has been subject to erosion and storm action, and as a result has come free of its concrete covering and now floats on the tide, anchored at each end by a concrete inlet structure and a concrete outlet structure. These works are designed to refurbish the pipe anchoring system, with no changes to the actual existing pipe.

Access to the construction area will be via existing laneway to Burrow Beach from Burrow Road. To allow for a safe turning area for vehicles involved in this essential work, the layby/parking area on Burrow Road will be closed off.

Work will be undertaken at Burrow Beach in Sutton to refurb an outlet pipe

These refurb works will last for approximately three months. While it is expected that there will be minimal impact on beach users during this time, the works will require the area being fenced off temporarily and fencing removed at the end of each day so that beach users will not be unduly impeded.
