Temporary Do Not Swim Notice extended for Brook Beach Portrane

Preliminary Bathing Water Quality Results received  from a sample taken at Portrane Beach, The Brook on Monday the 31st of July 2023 met the standard for "Poor" water quality - elevated E. Coli

Following consultation with the HSE a Temporary Bathing Water Advisory Notice was placed at the beach until a bathing water re-sample is taken.

The resample taken on 2nd August, 2023 has met the standard for “poor” and following consultation with the HSE we will be extending the Prohibition Notice at the beach (see notice attached).

A re-sample has been arranged to be taken on 8th August, 2023 and results will be available on 10th August, 2023.
