Time to prepare for Street Feast 2025 and a chance to celebrate with neighbours

Street Feast isn’t just about food—it’s about fostering friendship, inclusion, and belonging in our neighbourhoods. This year events will be held on the weekend of 24 & 25 May.

Fingal wants people to come together this May for Street Feast events in their neighbourhood

Street Feast will be back to neighbourhoods across Fingal on the weekend of 24th and 25th of May, as the people come together through free, local street parties and shared meals.

Now in its 15th year, Street Feast encourages residents to host gatherings in whatever space they have to share food, conversation, and a sense of belonging with their neighbours. With over 50,000 people participating each year, Street Feast has become a nationwide movement, strengthening communities one meal at a time.

To help people learn how easy it is to host their own gathering, the Street Feast Roadshow recently made its way to Balbriggan, with Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh welcoming visitors to the stand where they received free resources, expert tips, and inspiration to organise their own feasts, as well as the chance to meet local Feasters already planning their 2025 event.

Street Feast isn’t just about food—it’s about fostering friendship, inclusion, and belonging in our neighbourhoods. When we know our neighbours, we feel more connected and supported. A simple shared meal can spark long-lasting relationships, new community projects, and a renewed sense of pride in where we live.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDongah said: "Street Feast is a wonderful opportunity for neighbours to come together, share food, and celebrate the unique spirit of our local communities. I encourage everyone across Fingal to host a gathering, meet new faces, and help strengthen the bonds that make Fingal such vibrant and welcoming place to live."

Residents in Fingal can register to host a Street Feast via the official website (StreetFeast.ie).

Since its launch, Street Feast has made 750,000 community connections across Ireland, with a goal of reaching one million by 2030. By hosting or attending a Feast, you become part of this movement for positive change.

Hosting a Street Feast is made easy with a free party pack that includes essentials such as bunting, invitations, and posters. This initiative supports both small gatherings (like a casual tea and biscuits in a garden) and larger community events (such as a full-blown street party).

The Fingal region has been active in the Street Feast movement for some time. Last year, there were over 50 Street Feasts, with thousands of neighbours coming together for the celebrations. This demonstrates strong community engagement in the area. Now with the Spring weather arriving in earnest, the hope is that an even greater number of people will look to get on board to promote and organise neighbourhood events this May.

Residents in Fingal can register to host a Street Feast via the official website (StreetFeast.ie). The event is designed to be flexible: whether it’s a small get-together on a residential street or a larger event in a community hall, the goal is to foster connections, celebrate local culture, and build a sense of belonging.
