Recipient of RHA School and Fingal Arts Studio Award 2017

Michelle Hall was the successful recipient of the Fingal Art Studio Award 2017.

As part of an ongoing commitment to professional artists, Fingal Arts Office in partnership with RHA school offered an opportunity of a funded studio space for a professional artist for the period of one year. This award offers an artist the opportunity to develop their practice within the institutional framework of the RHA and covers the cost of studio rental and administration.

About Michelle Hall

Michelle Hall is an interdisciplinary artist and writer. Throughout her practice she gathers details, textures, words and objects to generate actions that explore modes of behaviour and thought, through still and moving image, performance, installation and text. Hall is a recent graduate of the MA Art in the Contemporary World programme at NCAD and completed her BA Fine Art at DIT Portland Row in 2007. In 2016 Hall was jointly awarded the RC Lewis-Crosby Award at in the inaugural RDS Visual Art Awards and her work has been selected for the upcoming StartPoint Prize 2017 in Prague. Throughout November Hall will take part in a research residency with The CENTRE FOR THE STUDY OF SUBSTRUCTURED LOSS at Thames-Side Studios, London. Hall has been awarded the Arts Council Film Bursary 2017 and the Dublin City Council Tyrone Guthrie Residency 2017. Her practice has been kindly supported by the Fingal County Council Arts Office Artists' Support Scheme 2014-2017.
