Schools Fundamental Movement Stencils

Fingal County Councils Active Cities Dublin section are here to help you Brighten up your school playground. The goal is to encourage children of all ages to exercise in their playground settings with playground games. These games with be educational and improve fundamental movement and promote health and fitness.

Active Cities will provide your school with the package of playground marking stencils to create the perfect outdoor play environment for your pupils, It’s the perfect opportunity to transform your play areas. With these colourful play spaces and targeted activities, we hope it encourages the least active children to participate in active play during breaks in the school yard.

Schools will be provided a stencil package for 1 week, within this week it will be your responsibility to transform your playground. We do not provide the paint. (Please see below for what paint to use). We would encourage each school to carefully plan out their design prior to receiving the materials and involve the pupils in the process to create a sense of contribution. 

With in the package, you will receive the following stencils.

Playground games – Hopscotch, Search-a-round, crazy maze, activity circuit and more.

Fundamental movement circuit

We have developed a new fundamental movement circuit for schools to implement. Included are the following: Jump, Balance, Catch, Throw, Squat, Lunge, Balance, Stretch and Dance. Each movement will have a circle around it.
