Storm Barra Orange Warning -Update Recycling Centres and Regional Parks now Open
Orange Weather Warning from Met Éireann from 8am to 1pm 7th December, 2021. Please be advised that our Recycling Centres in Coolmine and Estuary and our Regional Parks are closed since Monday evening. Further updates as the morning progresses. ***Update Wednesday December 8th Recycling Centres and Regional Parks have now reopened.

Recycling Centres and Regional Parks have now reopened. Playground at Newbridge Demesne will open at 11am when debris cleared.
Update Tuesday December 7, 5.30pm
- Winds are expected to rise again.
- Regional Parks and Recycling centres remain closed.
- Currently we have no reports of localised flooding.
- Reports of fallen trees and broken branches in all areas across the county.
- All Crews are on standby to deal with any flooding or further reports of incidents this evening and overnight.
- The public is advised to stay indoors and not to travel.
- Windy conditions to continue tomorrow and further rainfall is forecast

Crews continue to work on Storm damage clearing trees and branches from roads including Old River Road, Dublin 15, Church Road Mulhuddart, Ashfield Court and Turvey Avenue. The public are reminded to only drive if necessary and exercise caution.

In light of the ongoing storm event regional parks will not open today. Recycling Centres will also remain closed. Donabate Library closed.
Our crews continue to work dealing with #StormBarra including tree clearing in Garristown and trees removed from road in R132 at Lissenhall, Santry Demesne, and near Fingallians Swords. Please continue to exercise caution while driving in wind and rain and be on the look out for hazards.

Our crews continue to deal with fallen trees including at Woodcliff Heights in Howth and other areas. The public are reminded to exercise caution and not approach fallen trees. Tree cleared from Moyne Road earlier.
We will review the situation with regard to the Recycling Centres and regional parks after 1pm as Storm Barra progresses.

Our crews have been active since early today and have been checking flood defences and have dealt with a number of fallen trees including at Knocksedan Cross, Ridgewood, near Boot Inn, and branches near Pavillions Swords.

Orange Weather Warning from Met Éireann from 8am to 1pm tomorrow 7th December, 2021. Please be advised that our Recycling Centres in Coolmine and Estuary and our Regional Parks will also be closed from this evening. Further updates as the morning progresses.

- Due to the status orange weather warning from 8am to 1pm on Tuesday 7th December all Regional Parks and Recycling Centres are closed and we will continue to monitor the situation as the morning progresses.
- Our on-call crews are currently on standby in all areas as we approach a status yellow wind and rain warning overnight.
- We are keeping a close watch on all areas including Balbriggan, Harbour Road in Skerries, Portrane and across the Howth Malahide area.
- Stocks of sandbags are in place in the Depots in Watery Lane, Fancourt and Malahide Castle which can be distributed if required.
- Jetting of surface water lines and gullies has been happening on an ongoing basis through the last 6 months which will help to alleviate some problems.
- In the Malahide/Howth area 3 Flood gates have been closed & surface water outfalls cleared,
- 28 No Tonne bags were installed today to close the Sea Wall at Sutton,
- 150 sandbags ready for deployment if needed at seawall adjacent to public toilets, East Pier, Howth

The Irish Coast Guard, Road Safety Authority, An Garda Síochána and Local Authorities have issued the following public safety advice:
- Stay away from all coastal areas for the duration of the Met Éireann warnings
- All road users should be aware of the hazardous traveling conditions, and only necessary journeys should be undertaken. Motorists should slow down and be aware of the dangers of fallen trees and debris. High sided vehicles are particularly vulnerable during this time.
- As conditions will vary throughout the event, people need to take account of the local conditions and advice from their Local Authority.
- The public are warned electricity wires are always live, never approach. If you see fallen or damaged wires, keep clear and phone ESB Networks immediately on 1800 372 999/021 238 2410
- Should red level warnings be issued, the public are advised to shelter in place for the duration of the warning
The Coast Guard is appealing to all mariners and coastal communities to be mindful of the severe weather #StormBarra All other forms of open water recreation should be avoided during the passage of Storm Barra. STATUS ORANGE - WIND WARNING FOR DUBLIN, LOUTH, WICKLOW, EAST MEATH
Storm Barra: Southeasterly winds will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/h with severe or damaging gusts of 100 to 130 km/h, with localised stronger winds likely. Due to a combination of high waves, storm surge and high tide, coastal flooding is expected. Disruption to power and travel are likely.

STATUS YELLOW - WIND AND RAIN WARNING FOR IRELAND
Storm Barra will bring widespread mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h and gusts of 90 to 110 km/h with localised stronger winds likely. Heavy rain will also bring risks of surface flooding and, due to a combination of high waves, storm surge and high tide, coastal flooding is expected. Disruption to power and travel are likely.
