Development Plan Timelines

This project will have four stages which will be centred around the four stages of the Development Plan process and the publication of four key documents.

Development Plan timeline

Stage 1

This is the Pre-Draft Stage and covers from week 1 to week 46. Key elements of this stage are:

  • March – May 2021: Public Consultation – Strategic Issues Paper
  • July 2021: Chief Executive Report on Consultation
  • September 2021: Directions from Elected Members to make a Draft Development Plan
  • October 2021 – February 2022: Preparation of Draft Development Plan

Stage 2

This is the Draft Development Plan Stage and covers weeks 47 – 82:

  • February – May 2022: Public Consultation on the Draft Development Plan
  • July 2022: Chief Executive Report on Submissions
  • October 2022: Consideration of Chief Executive Report by Elected Members

Stage 3

Material Amendments, this stage covers weeks 83 – 99

  • October 2022: Preparation of Material Amendments
  • November 2022: Public Consultation on Material Amendments
  • December 2022: Chief Executive Report on Submissions
  • January 2023: Consideration of Chief Executive Report by Elected Members

Stage 4

This is the final Phase and culminates with the making of the Development Plan by the Elected Members.

  • February 2023: Making of the Plan: The elected  members must pass a resolution to make  the plan.
  • March 2023: Plan Operational: The Plan becomes  effective 6 weeks following the passing of the  resolution by the elected members.
