Additional services should be devolved to local authorities

Fingal County Council Chief Executive Paul Reid has stated that the debate surrounding Local Government in Ireland needs to extend from just the focus on who runs the sector to a debate about what services could be further devolved from Central Government.

Fingal celebrates a quantum leap in success for BT Young Scientist of the Year

Students from schools around Fingal were honoured at a special reception at County Hall in Swords. Students, teachers and family in attendance from Loreto Secondary School in Balbriggan, St. Joseph’s in Rush, Portmarnock Community School, Le Chéile Secondary School, and Coláiste Pobail Setanta were also praised and recognised.

Fingal wins on the double at LAMA awards

St. Catherine’s Park, Dublin 15 was named Best Public Park and Fingal County Council’s Electric Vehicle Charging on the Public Street Lighting System won the Best Energy Smart Initiative at the 2019 All Ireland Community and Council Awards at a ceremony in Croke Park Stadium.

Fingal gets set for wonderful St Patrick's Day parades

St. Pa.trick’s Day in Fingal is set to be a bustling celebration of all things Irish, as over 136 groups and counting take part in parades to be held across the county. Fingal County Council’s Events Unit has fielded 53 applications from Swords, 47 from Blanchardstown and 36 from Balbriggan so far.

Fingal leads way with Skills Strategy Launch

Fingal County Council has launched the Fingal Skills Strategy, the first of its kind to be developed by any Local Authority in Ireland.The Strategy sets out specific actions such as developing new training courses, increasing course provision, and building relationships and links with employers, educational institutions and other stakeholders.

Cult Drinks is Fingal Enterprise of the Year award winner

A drinks business from Donabate is this year’s winner of the Fingal Enterprise Award for 2019.  Cult Drinks took the top prize of €5,000 and will now represent Local Enterprise Office Fingal at the 21st National Enterprise Awards on Wednesday 29th May in the Mansion House in Dublin.

Highlights from Culture Night in Fingal 2018

 

There was a great turn out all over Fingal for Culture Night with plenty of free cultural events including  music concerts, engaging talks, exhibitions, heritage tours, film screenings, theatre performances, children’s entertainment, willow weaving  workshops, science, astronomy  and star gazing which captured people’s imagination.

Autumn Sounds 2016

Initially conceived as a three-day festival on the grounds of St Mochta’s in Porterstown in 2010, the series will take place this year in the prestigious Ballroom at Farmleigh, and in The Seamus Ennis Centre, Naul.
