Cllr Brendan Ryan co-opted to Fingal County Council
A new Labour councillor was officially co-opted into Fingal County Council today, as Cllr Brendan Ryan filled the seat left vacant by the resignation of Seána Ó Rodaigh. Cllr Ryan will represent the Balbriggan Local Electoral Area.
Cllr Ryan was proposed by Labour colleagues Cllr Robert O’Donoghue and seconded by Cllr Mary McCamley.
Seána Ó Rodaigh had been elected in 2019 and served as Mayor of Fingal in 2021-22.
Like his predecessor, Cllr Ryan resides in Skerries and, after serving in Seanad Éireann from 2007 to 2011, he was a TD from 2011 to 2020.
Cllr Ryan was also elected to the Community Development, Heritage, Culture and Creativity Strategic Policy Committee; the North Dublin Regional Drugs and Alcohol Task Force; the County Heritage Forum; and Comhairle Na nÓg.
