Cruinniú na nÓg 2020
A national day of creativity for children and young people, Cruinniú na nÓg takes place on Saturday 13 June 2020. Children and young people are invited to take part in a range of events and workshops presented to you by Fingal County Council.
All events are free of charge, child-centred and activity-based. It’s a day for lots of doing, making and creating!
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, and as part of the Government’s #InThisTogether campaign, Fingal County Council will bring Cruinniú na nÓg online for 2020.
Mayor Eoghan O Brien said “I am delighted to announce this years programme of events which includes free online workshops in coding, photography, photogram, storytelling, dance, singing, visual arts, yoga and even ice cream making. The importance of harnessing creativity in our young people cannot be underestimated particularly in the current climate and we are proud to present a programme of events which allows the voice of our young people to be heard and nourishes their wellbeing through participation in creative activities”
Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly said “Cruinniú na nÓg has gone from strength to strength over the past two years in Fingal and we are proud to participate again this year making available over 25 free online workshops for children and young people across a broad range of creative disciplines. We are pleased to be working alongside Creative professionals across the county creating these opportunities for young people in making this a wonderful day of creativity.”
Margaret Geraghty, Director of Housing and Community said “It is even more important during this time to ensure the creativity of our young people is supported and stimulated. This year we have a wide ranging programme of events catering to all ages which will showcase the creativity of young people across Fingal and we are calling on all children and young people to get involved”.
