Fantastic performances at the Respect Cup
Fifteen schools from the Dublin 15 area participated in the FAI / Fingal County Council Primary Schools Futsal Respect Cup in Corduff Sports Centre on Wednesday October 23.
An amazing 26 teams amounting to nearly 300 players enjoyed what was a wonderful showcase for school’s futsal.
FAI / Fingal County Council Development Officers Paul Breen and Jamie Wilson also co-ordinated a 'Showed Racism the Red Card' element to the afternoon’s showpiece.
The girl’s events saw some fantastic goals in which Group One winners St. Ciaran's NS ran out 5-2 winners over Group 2 winners St. Patrick’s NS of Castleknock. St. Francis Xavier and Scoil Ghrainne were the group runners up in a highly skilful display.
The boys final showdown was made up of St. Francis Xavier and Scoil Ghrainne after both were successful in their semi-finals against Mary Mother of Hope and St. Patrick’s NS, Castleknock respectively. Scoil Ghráinne were eventual winners with a narrow 1-0 score line in what was an extremely even contest.
The winners of the Art Competition and €100 prize which was sponsored by Safer Blanchardstown was St. Francis of Assisi for an excellent piece which illustrated the theme of 'Respect' in such a creative way! Congratulations to the School on a huge achievement.
