Fingal Home Fit Sessions

Fingal County Council Sports Office are launching a pilot HomeFit Programme next Monday 9th November. These free, online classes are open to all levels of ability and will be 30min fitness sessions delivered by qualified coaches for 3 weeks. There will be three classes a week delivered live online at 10am and includes a Body Mind Movement class, Abs class and Chair Exercise class. Each of the sessions incorporates a ‘little to no equipment theme’.

Mayor of Fingal Councillor David Healy said “Keeping active is very important for our physical and mental wellbeing and is a key aspect of the Governments campaign to #KeepWell while living with Covid-19.  I commend the Fingal Sports Office for this HomeFit programme which will help everyone keep active.”

Marion Brown, Principal  Sports  Development  Officer, Fingal  County  Council,  commented “Given the COVID pandemic, health and fitness has become an important focus. Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, exercise and sufficient rest and these classes could provide that physical activity opportunity to people from the comfort of their own home.”

Director of Services, Housing & Community, Margaret Geraghty, said: “The HomeFit programme is a great initiative by Fingal County Council’s Sports Office.  The Sports Office has worked hard over the last number of months coming up with new and innovative ways to keep people active and engaged in sport throughout the pandemic. I hope people all over Fingal get involved in these physical activity classes.”
