The sixth annual Fingal Inclusion Week is set to bring a diverse lineup of over 70 events across Fingal County, running from Monday, November 11th to Sunday, November 17th. Organised by Fingal County Council’s Community Development Office, this initiative celebrates and promotes community efforts to address social exclusion and poverty throughout the region.

Fingal Inclusion Week not only raises awareness about the vital work of local community groups and the Community Development Office but also shines a light on the challenges that lead to social exclusion. Participating groups include the Dromheath Residents Association, Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival, and Howth Sutton Autism Friendly Community, among others. The week will also feature services such as Blanchardstown Centre of Independent Living, Balbriggan Integration Forum, and Fingal Libraries.

Fingal Mayor, Cllr Brian McDonagh, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m delighted to celebrate Inclusion Week this year. With such a range of events planned, there truly is something for everyone to enjoy. Fingal is known for its dynamic and diverse community, and I look forward to the positive connections and insights that this week will foster.”

AnnMarie Farrelly, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, emphasised the week’s core message of community and inclusivity. “Fingal Inclusion Week is all about bringing people together and creating a warm, welcoming community. Known for its friendliness, Fingal’s spirit of hospitality is extended to all—new residents and long-time locals alike—so that everyone, no matter their background, can feel at home here.”

Sinead Wiley, Senior Community Officer, added, “This week is an invaluable part of what we do at the Community Development Office. It’s a chance to showcase the remarkable organisations we collaborate with across the County and to celebrate inclusion through an exciting, vibrant program designed for everyone.”

All events are free, offering opportunities to join activities like cultural exchange evenings, craft and music workshops, educational talks, and community plantings. There is truly something for everyone across the County.
