Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2025 now open for applications from Fingal Community Groups

Community and Voluntary Groups in Fingal are invited to apply for funding under the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2025. The Programme provides both capital and current funding support to a wide and diverse range of local groups, including Men’s Sheds and Women’s Sheds. Funding is available to support small capital works/improvements, the purchase of equipment for community use; tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment etc., as well as current costs such as electricity/heating/insurance costs, refuse charges and rental/lease costs.

Fingal County Council has been allocated a total of €268,827 in funding for Groups across the county with €230,423 available for capital works and €38,404 available for current costs. The Local Enhancement Programme 2025 is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development. LEP 2025 is administered by Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) in each Local Authority area with the funding aiming to support local strategic priorities and link with the Council’s Local Economic Community Plan (LECP).

Applications are now being sought from Community and Voluntary Groups in Fingal for grants up to a maximum of €10,000 for capital funding applications and a maximum of €3,500 for current funding applications with a closing date for receipt of applications of Monday, 13th January 2025 at 5pm. 

Welcoming the LEP Programme 2025, Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh said: “The Local Enhancement Programme 2025 provides vital financial support to Community Groups and Organisations across Fingal by funding both capital and current expenditure. This will help to support groups to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities while also helping them sustain their day-to-day operations. Fingal County Council is proud to support Community Groups who make valuable contributions to local communities, particularly in disadvantaged areas. I encourage all eligible groups to apply.”
